As custom website developers, we occasionally are involved in projects that can be considered a bit out of the ordinary. One recent example of this is the site we programmed for Avanta Residential. Their previous website was built in WordPress, which they found didn’t suit their needs. Since they wanted a similar design, we offered a WordPress to custom website conversion. We partnered with their ad agency, Wonderstruct, to create a site that was reliable, customized, and easier to maintain.

While WordPress is usually sufficient for small websites, it does come with some caveats. Larger websites typically suffer from performance issues such as slow site load, malfunctions, and incompatible plugins. As a result, general maintenance becomes a time consuming challenge – making these sites hard to update and manage.

WordPress to Custom Website Conversion

If you’re in a similar situation as Avanta, know that it is possible to convert your current WordPress website to a custom one. For this project, Wonderstruct sent us all of the website and brand assets. They also provided Adobe XD files for us to include any updates that would be made the existing template. Once we had all of the files, we began programming the custom HTML/CSS.

To ease site maintenance and reduce bloat, the new website was built with our proprietary content management system. Our system provides users with only the modules they need to edit content on their site. Google Analytics were integrated into the site to track performance, visits, and much more.
