Custom Website Design & Development: El Paso Water
El Paso Water is a municipally-owned water utility serving the city of El Paso and plays a vital role in delivering reliable, high quality service to the community. They wanted the website redesign to reflect this. To begin, we created a comprehensive site map with a layout that prioritizes ease of use and ensures quick access to tools and information. The new design includes dedicated sections for residential users, businesses, contractors, and vendors.
Strategy and Customization
Creating a site that works on any device is essential, especially mobile, where users now spend on average 20% of their day. During testing, we found layout issues and made adjustments as needed. For mobile, we redesigned the menu with a vertical layout, ensuring clarity and ease of use across all screen sizes.
Due to the site’s custom management system, we created various modules to tailor the content on each page. By using short codes, we may display selected categories within specific sections of each page. This approach streamlines content updates for the client and makes the site easier for customers to read and navigate.
Building the PBS meetings module for the El Paso Water team was a taxing yet exciting task. The section was designed to store agendas, minutes, and other meeting documents. This module is an integral part of the site, as the information it contains should be publicly accessible. Like other components on the site, the page is user-friendly and features meeting details and information organized by year.
Design and Resources
We drew design inspiration from the element of water and the client’s original branding. With this in mind, we used that theme throughout the site. Rounded edges, soft shading, and smooth navigation create a calm, flowing experience. Subtle details such as wave animations help bring the water theme to life and unify the overall design.
Coupled with simplified navigation, customers can find essential tools such as outage maps, emergency reporting, water loss management, and account management. Additionally, users can take advantage of helpful resources for billing, payment options, leaks and property protection, rebate programs, and conservation tips for both homes and businesses.
In conclusion, the redesigned website reflects El Paso Water’s commitment to reliable service and community access. Making it simple for users to find what they need, stay informed, and engage more effectively. Custom website design and development is just one of our specialties. Want to learn more?
