Network Status Alerts via Twitter
November 12, 2009
Although it rarely happens, sometimes something on our servers or in the data center decides it wants to make our life difficult. When that happens we’ve always had to balance focusing resources on fixing the problem with notifying customers.
We’ve identified Twitter as an excellent tool for announcing network related issues. Now, whenever there is a problem we’ll post the details on our Twitter feed. As the status changes updates will be posted as well.
To receive our alerts follow StantonStatus on Twitter. While you’re there you’ll probably want to follow our main feed, StantonStreet, if you’re not already. If you don’t have a Twitter account you can create one for free. Because of the potentially sensitive nature of our network status updates, the feed is protected and limited to customers only. Just request and we’ll approve you.
Because we have multiple servers, not every alert will apply to every customer. To help you determine if an alert affects your services we have identified each server with a unique, memorable name. To find out which server you are on, log in to the Support Ticketing System or the Client Portal.
If you don’t have your username and password for your account with us give us a call or contact us.
